IPv6-based grid communications are becoming the standard choice in industrial markets and applications like smart meters and grid automation. The universal data concentrator design provides a complete IPv6-based network solution integrated with Ethernet backbone communication: 6LoWPAN RF mesh networking: RS-485 and more. The 6LoWPAN mesh networking addresses key concerns such as standard-based interoperability: reliability: security and long-distance connectivity. Secured 6LoWPAN mesh end-node with enhanced network capacity reference design
This reference design implements an RF mesh network end node with DTLS security for smart meter Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) networks. The network is an IPv6 over low-power wireless personal area networks (6LoWPAN) solution. The design implements this network in a single CC1312R SimpleLink™ Wireless MCU to enhanceperformance and minimize system cost. The complete 6LoWPAN mesh network runs on top of the TI-15.4 stack based on IEEE 802.15.4e/g protocols and implements an un-slotted channel hopping (USCH) mode to provide protection against network interference. Network capacity is improved and the security is enhanced compared to TIDA-010003 end node design with the inclusion of larger neighbor and routing tables that optimize packet routing decisions.
96-Channel Bidirectional Digital Input Module Reference Design for PLC
This reference design is a compact implementation of 96 isolated digital input channels using the ISO1212: an isolated digital input receiver. This design shows the current limit feature of the ISO1212 device which has better thermal performance than traditional optocoupler solutions. This design makes a digital input board with multiple channels more compact and decreases board temperature (less than 50 °C). A MUX and decoder with the ISO1212 device decreases the number of pins of the microcontroller from 96 to 8. The design was tested with 100-kHz input signals (200- kbit) per channel. The design uses less than 7.3 W of input power which results in less heat dissipation. All signals are designed to withstand ESD: EFT: and surge events according to IEC6100-4.

PMP40001 is a full featured USB type-C PD DFP reference design. The pure analog configuration for the USB type-C source controller--TPS25740 makes the PD negotiation easy. It supports 3 sets of output voltage options including 5V/12V/20V.  The max output current is 3A which provides a maximal 60W output power @20Vo. This design's total efficiency can achieve 96% at full load by adopting the high performance buck-boost controller--LM5175: which also means a good thermal performance. The valid input voltage range is from 6V to 13.5V which is compatible with the 2S and 3S lithium battery pack.
24-V AC Power Stage With Wide Vin Converter and Battery Gauge Reference Design for Smart Thermostat
This reference design provides a low BOM count: high-efficiency power stage for smart thermostats and other gateway building automation designs. This power stage takes a 24-V AC input and produces a 5-V and 3.3-V output rail: which can power additional point-of-load converters if added. The design provides LiPo battery charging and seamless switching to battery power during a 24-V AC brownout. The power-path capability provides battery power assistance allowing load transient to exceed the current limit of the 24-V AC to DC system: allowing a lower cost wide-Vin buck to be used. The battery fuel gauge helps designers preserve battery life and ensure proper operation by helping the central processor make smarter decisions on power saving and system functionality.
50W System-Level Power Reference Design for Automotive Infotainment Systems
TIDA-00744 is a 50-W system-level SMPS design for mid-power automotive infotainment systems. Non-Isolated RS-485 to Wi-Fi Bridge with 24 VAC Power Reference Design

A switch on the PCB provides the freedom of supplying DC/DC and LDO from AC input or DC input.
50mA Wireless Charger with 19mm Coil BoosterPack Reference Design
The TIDA-00881 reference design is a booster pack that provides a wireless charger and an entire battery managment solution to power any low power TI Launchpad. This design is a  highly integrated power management solution that is well-suited for ultra-low power applications using an off the shelf coil. The primary method of storage is an LIR2032 Lithium-Ion rechargable coin cell. There is a connector for an external battery if desired.

Dynamic Field-Powered NFC for Data Logging Access Control & Security Applications Reference Design
This reference design is a sub-system design for NFC (Near Field Communication) and authentication.  This subsystem design is intended as a reference design for part authentication: access control: personal identification: battery-less sensor interface: security token transfer: and low power transfer of local data.  In many systems: especially safety critical applications: it is imperative that only authentic: inspected: and properly maintained parts are utilized. High Precision Temperature Measurement for Heat and Cold Meters Reference Design
This reference design implements a high-precision differential temperature measurement (DTM) subsystem using a 24-bit: low-power: delta-sigma ADC. Heat and cold meter DTM subsystems typically use two 2- or 4-wire Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD) such as PT100: PT500: or PT1000 and can achieve a differential temperature measurement accuracy of 10 mK over a water temperature range of 3 °C to 180 °C. UART to Wi-Fi Bridge with 24 VAC Power Reference Design
This reference design uses our SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 internet-on-a-chip wireless MCU module to create a data bridge between existing hardware with a logic-level UART interface and a Wi-Fi network. The design also contains a simple switcher power supply with a wide-input range suitable for 24-V HVAC systems. The UART interface has buffers to allow this design to interface with equipment that has logic levels between 3.3 V and 5 V.
IO-Link With Digital Output and DC/DC Reference Design
This reference design demonstrates the ability to have a high-density: IO-Link transceiver module: digital output (DO) (1) channel: and a DC-DC buck converter. With the DC-DC this module can power a wide array of external devices: such as microcontrollers (MCUs): sensors: displays: and more. IO-Link and DO communication channels offer a wide range of flexibility for different applications. This reference design will fit applications that require a combination of sensors: such as a flow meters: level sensors: motion sensors: light sensors: or ultrasonic sensors. The TIOL111 and TIOS101 have high tolerances to ESD as outlined in IEC 61000-4-4 and IEC 61000-4-5 (500 Ω): allowing them to be used in industrial settings where there is a potential for high amounts of ESD. With the addition of transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes: the level of ESD protection can be raised substantially. This reference design only implements the physical layer of IO-Link.
48V 3-Phase Inverter with Shunt-based In-line Motor Phase Current Sensing Reference Design
The TIDA-00913 reference design realizes a 48V/10A 3-phase GaN inverter with precision in-line shunt-based phase current sensing for accurate control of precision drives such as servo drives. One of the largest challenges with in-line shunt-based phase current sensing is the high common-mode voltage transients during PWM switching. The INA240 bi-directional current-sense amplifier overcomes this problem using enhanced PWM rejection. The reference design provides an output voltage from 0 to 3.3V: scaled to ±16.5A with 1.65V mid voltage for high phase-current accuracy over the entire temperature range. The TIDA-00913 offers a TI BoosterPack compatible interface to connect to a C2000 MCU LaunchPad™ development kit for easy performance evaluation.
Low-Power Water Flow Measurement With Inductive Sensing Reference Design
This reference design demonstrates a highly-integrated solution for this application using an inductive sensing technique enabled by the CC1350 SimpleLink™ Wireless MCU and FemtoFET™ MOSFET. This reference design also provides the platform for integration of wireless communications such as wireless M-Bus: Sigfox™: or a proprietary protocol. Water utility providers who wish to add Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) capability face the choice of replacing all of their existing meters or installing a simple electronic add-on module: which will accurately measure the water flow rate and wirelessly transmit the results. Such add-on modules can provide the least expensive solution to provide AMR features to consumers.

RGB Signal Light With IO-Link Interface Reference Design
This reference design implements a five-segment LED smart stack light with 20 LEDs used in factory floor and industrial process automation of greater complexity. An IO-Link interface is implemented for controlling the stack light and reading back status information. The design features low power consumption to be powered through the IO-Link interface.This signal light reference design demonstrates how the power dissipation of the RGB LED driver can be reduced by 30% and the range of the brightness control can be extended. Automatic brightness control adapts the brightness to ambient light. The reference design uses a simple PWM to modify the output voltage of a switching regulator to implement dynamic headroom control.
CISPR 25 Class 5 USB Type-C™ Port Reference Design with USB 3.0 Data Support
TIDA-00987 is a reference design for Automotive Media Ports that require data transfer. This design has the capability to support USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 data through a 15W USB Type-C™ port. Customers can accelerate their media port systems by taking advantage of a complete reference design comprised of analog AEC-Q100 qualified integrated circuits (ICs) that are CISPR 25 Class 5 tested. This design creates a robust: flexible solution which allows the system to charge both USB Type-C and legacy devices all within a small 1in x 2.5in solution.
