China MEMS Sensor Industry Landscape (2025 Edition)

In 2025, the global semiconductor industry began to recover. Driven by the rebound in industrial and automotive demand, the global MEMS sensor market experienced steady growth, with prices also stabilizing accordingly.

According to data released by Yole Intelligence, the global MEMS industry market size reached $15.4 billion in 2024, an increase of $800 million from $14.6 billion in the previous year. Additionally, based on forecasts from CCID Consulting, China’s MEMS sensor market size is expected to reach RMB 133 billion in 2024, an increase of RMB 19.27 billion from RMB 113.73 billion in the previous year. This indicates that China is one of the fastest-growing markets in the global MEMS sensor industry.

According to the latest statistics from Yole Intelligence, five Chinese companies made it into the “2024 Global Top 30 MEMS Sensor Enterprises” list: Goertek (Goertek Microelectronics), Raytron Technology, Hikmicro, AAC Technologies, and Sensortech (controlled by Wise Road Capital). Although these five companies still lag behind international giants like Bosch, Broadcom, Qorvo, TDK, and HP in terms of scale, their performance in 2024 was commendable compared to the 2023 rankings.

After spinning off Goertek Microelectronics, Goertek showed steady progress, moving from 11th to 10th place. Raytron Technology made a remarkable comeback in 2024, jumping to 18th place after falling out of the top 30 in 2023 (it was 30th in 2022). Hikmicro performed impressively in the thermal imaging field, advancing from 28th to 24th place. AAC Technologies’ performance was relatively stable, slipping slightly from 26th to 27th. However, according to statistics from Eefocus Institute, which analyzed revenue from both its acoustic products and MEMS sensor segments, AAC Technologies did not actually decline. The discrepancy may be due to differences in statistical methodologies between Yole Intelligence and Eefocus Institute. Sensortech, controlled by Wise Road Capital, made its debut on the list, securing the 30th position.

Additionally, compared to the 2023 data, significant changes were observed in the rankings of international MEMS sensor manufacturers in 2024. For instance, Teledyne MEMS and TSMC dropped out of the top 30, replaced by Lynred, a French company specializing in infrared detectors formed by the merger of Sofradir and Ulis, and Sensirion, a sensor manufacturer fully owned by Swiss Sensirion Automotive Solutions AG. Other notable changes include Knowles selling its consumer MEMS microphone business to U.S. edge AI company Syntiant.

To further understand the latest developments in the domestic MEMS industry, this report outlines China’s position in the global MEMS sensor industry, provides statistics on nearly 200 mainstream Chinese MEMS sensor companies, and analyzes the latest developments of 14 leading listed enterprises.
